Why the Mutating Elixir matters

Altar of Fangs contains an optional profession interaction that rewards the entire party with Mutating Elixir. The buff grants 3% Versatility, lasts for the rest of the dungeon run, and persists through death, so it is worth planning for before the key starts.

How to obtain the buff

1. 1

   Bring a qualified profession

   Before entering the dungeon, confirm that one party member has at least 25 skill in Midnight Alchemy or Midnight Cooking.

   Defeat The Writhing Coil

   Continue through the dungeon until the second boss, The Writhing Coil, is defeated.
3. 3

   Enter the Ascendant Serpent room

   Proceed into the following room, where the Ascendant Serpent encounter is located.

   Find the Unfinished Mixture

   Look in the far-left corner of the room for the Unfinished Mixture.
5. 5

   Activate the mixture

   Have the qualified cook or alchemist interact with it. The entire party receives Mutating Elixir for the remainder of the run.
