Gnarldor Isle Delve Guide

Gnarldor Isle (in-game named Gnarldor Den) is one of two regular Delves added on the Coiled Isle in Patch 12.1, telling the story of the Gnarldin attacking the local Tortollan. It has three rotating story variants, a shared trash and boss pool, and three Sturdy Chests to loot regardless of which variant is active. This guide covers the delve mechanic, dangerous trash abilities, all three story variants, both possible bosses, and chest locations.

Delve Mechanic — Tortollan Scrolls

Scrolls appear throughout the delve. Clicking one grants a buff — but be careful, as some scrolls carry a negative effect alongside the helpful one, so read what you're picking up before committing to it.

⚔ Dangerous Trash Mobs

Most Gnarldin enemies here are straightforward, but a few can chain-kill you if pulled carelessly.

• Stonerender Raider — has two abilities that combo badly together, especially if pulled alongside other mobs. Charge runs at you and stuns for 2.5 seconds with a very short minimum range, so even a small step back can still trigger it. Muckwave is a frontal cone that deals heavy damage if you stand in it.
• Tuskcrusher Outrider — an elite Gnarldin riding a mammoth with a single ability, Stampede: a self-buff that slows its movement but deals heavy physical damage and knocks players away on contact. Be careful where you pull these — the knockback can send you into more mobs.
• Earthcaller Shaman — a caster with one ability, Mud Bolt, dealing moderate single-target damage. One of the few caster mobs in the delve, so interrupt it whenever you can.

💀 Boss — Gralka Snake-Eater

Gralka is the default boss for two of the three story variants (Olds and Ends, Speaking Their Language). Her mechanics are simple on paper but not obvious in practice.

• Snake Eater — a cast that, when completed, grants Gralka 2 stacks of a buff increasing her damage by 15% per stack, and leaves a venomous puddle on the floor.
• Venomblade Slash — moderate physical damage to her main target, applying a Nature damage-over-time effect scaling with her Snake Eater stacks.
• Purging Breath — a 6-second interruptible channel. Every 2 seconds she removes 1 Snake Eater stack but fires a toxic wave at her current target, which can be sidestepped but hits very hard — close to a one-shot if it lands.

📜 Story Variants

Olds and Ends

Assist Tormunda: rescue elderly Tortollan and collect supplies. Supplies drop from defeated enemies onto the floor — run over them to collect, and check any bags they drop too. The delve is fairly large, so it's easy to clear more enemies than strictly necessary; stick to the objective path where possible. Save 8 turtles and collect all supplies to unlock the boss.

Speaking Their Language

Rescue 3 turtles and collect a handful of items — just follow the yellow objective markers on the minimap. Afterward, you'll mount a War Turtle vehicle with four abilities: a frontal cone fire attack, a ranged cannon barrage covering roughly 40 yards in front of you, Shell Spin (faster movement plus collision damage), and a defensive shell that heals for a small amount. Using the turtle, defeat 50 Gnarldin, then dismount to fight Gralka Snake-Eater — you can't use the turtle against the boss itself.

Minchi's Osseous Adventure

A different boss encounter from the other two variants. Assist Minchi researching their history through a ritual involving Bone Piles scattered around the delve (more piles exist than you actually need). Clicking a Bone Pile summons waves of enemies to defeat. You'll also need to collect 6 Gnarldin Hearts by interacting with Gnarldin corpses. Once you've triggered 6 Bone Piles and collected 6 Hearts, perform the ritual on the delve's bridge.

Three Sturdy Chests are hidden around Gnarldor Isle. No specific story variant is required to access them.
