Sentinel of Winter Mythic+ Strategy

Bait Raging Squall in one corner, stagger the Fractured Shivercores, and use Snowdrift to survive Frozen Tempest.

Fight Plan

Sentinel of Winter is the second boss in Den of Nalorakk. The fight becomes much safer when the group controls where Raging Squall tornadoes spawn and deliberately staggers the two Fractured Shivercores instead of killing both at once.

Bait Raging Squall

  1. Stack before the cast

Move together near one corner when Raging Squall is about to spawn. A tight stack causes the tornadoes to appear in the same area.
  2. Leave the drop point

As soon as the tornadoes form, move as a group into clean space. Repeating this pattern keeps old tornadoes away from the middle of the room.
  3. Preserve the next corner

Do not spread new tornadoes across the arena. Rotate around the room only when the current bait area becomes unsafe.

Stagger the Shivercores

  1. Pick a kill target

When Shattering Frostspike creates two Fractured Shivercores, move Sentinel of Winter onto one add and cleave that target with the boss.
  2. Control the second add

Use a reliable hard crowd control such as Hex, Polymorph, or Freezing Trap on the other Shivercore. Interrupt Winter's Shroud from any active add.
  3. Soak Rimeshatter

When the first Shivercore dies, assign one player to soak its Rimeshatter so the group avoids the Rime Detonation after-effect.
  4. Stand in Snowdrift

The dead Shivercore leaves Snowdrift. Move into it for protection from forced movement during Frozen Tempest.
  5. Finish the second add

After Frozen Tempest ends, move the boss onto the controlled Shivercore and cleave it down before returning to the normal boss pattern.

Role Notes

  • Tank: position Sentinel of Winter beside the active Shivercore so the group can cleave both without breaking crowd control on the second add.
  • Healer: dispel Glacial Torment and prepare for mistakes during the add-to-Frozen Tempest transition.
  • Damage dealers: save reliable hard crowd control for the second Shivercore, interrupt Winter's Shroud, and avoid damage that breaks the control early.
