Patch 12.1.5 Housing and Decor Guide
What changed for housing in Patch 12.1.5, including stairwell blueprints, clearer dye requirements, faster collection access, non-repeating public Endeavors, and cheaper legacy crafted decor.
Blueprint import and export
- A stairwell blueprint now includes every vertically connected stairwell room. A four-story stairwell can therefore be exported as one connected structure.
- When importing that blueprint, you can attach it from either the bottom or the top, provided the placement does not collide with existing rooms.
- The Blueprint Contents List no longer repeats dyes already supplied by included decor. It lists only dyes that require a consumable dye item.
- Dye tooltips now identify the item used to apply each color, and additional labels explain the Blueprint collection screens.
- The Blueprint button in Housing Controls now opens your Blueprint collection directly.
Layouts, interiors, and exteriors
- Floorplan edit mode now has default Page Up and Page Down controls for moving between floors.
- Before importing a multi-floor layout, check the room-placement and decor budgets and clear collision space at the floor where you intend to connect it.
- Blueprints can preserve a room, an interior or exterior layout, or a full build. Missing decor does not necessarily prevent import, but unavailable pieces will be omitted.
- For intricate builds, save a clean checkpoint before major edits. The import workflow can restore an earlier arrangement, but your own saved blueprint is the most dependable fallback.
Decor sources, rewards, and dyes
- All crafted decor recipes from professions predating Midnight now cost fewer materials. Recheck older recipes before buying finished pieces, because the revised material cost may make self-crafting or work orders more attractive.
- The corrected contents list separates dyes built into a decor requirement from consumable dye items. Use that list as the shopping checklist for an imported build.
- Prey catch-up rewards can include decor while advancing the Season 2 journey, making it useful for players returning in 12.1.5.
- Holiday and Endeavor vendors remain time-sensitive sources. Keep Community Coupons available if a rotating vendor offers a piece that anchors your planned room.
Patch 12.1.5 decor sources
- More than 200 decor entries are associated with the 12.1.5 data set, but database presence does not guarantee immediate availability. Confirm an acquisition source before spending time farming an item.
- Aqir Invasions provide several new pieces, including an introductory-quest trophy and aqir-themed objects.
- The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan has three unique decor rewards: the Ruined Amani Ritual Urn, Ancient Amani Mural, and Brown Amani Tapestry. Their sources include a bonus objective and Ancient Chests.
- Kith'ix can drop Kith'ix's Seal as a housing remembrance from the raid.
- Older-expansion collections and reduced profession recipes are a major part of this patch's housing additions. Check your collection first because some rewards may already be unlocked from past activity.
Neighborhoods and Endeavors
Public Neighborhoods no longer receive the same Endeavor twice in a row. Endeavors remain shared neighborhood activities that unlock themed vendors, decor, quests, Housing Experience, and Community Coupons as milestones advance.
Pets and pet beds
The official 12.1.5 notes do not announce a new pet-bed system change. The Patch 12.1 feature remains: pet-bed decor can assign battle pets to stay at a bed or roam the house, with up to ten pet beds placed indoors. Blueprint requirements may reflect pet placement, so confirm those slots after an import.
Practical checks and hidden gotchas
- Open the Blueprint collection from Housing Controls and verify the required room shapes, decor budget, missing objects, and consumable dyes before placing anything.
- For tall stairwell builds, test attachment from both ends. A collision on one floor can block the whole connected import even when the other rooms appear clear.
- After a successful import, inspect pet assignments and any decor that was missing from your collection; the structure can place correctly while those details remain incomplete.
- Save the result under your own blueprint slot. Shared codes can stop working if their creator deletes the source blueprint, and codes cannot be updated in place.
New Battle for Azeroth vendor decor
Patch 12.1.5 adds BfA-themed purchases using War Resources. Horde characters can visit Jeni at Vulpera Hideaway (56, 50) for furniture and caravans, and Hoarder Jena nearby (56, 49) for outdoor pieces. Alliance characters can visit Fenwir in Drustvar (37, 49) for plants and trees. Confirm faction access before traveling.
| Vendor | Example purchase | War Resources |
|---|---|---|
| Jeni | Vulpera War Banner | 300 |
| Hoarder Jena | Caravan Smith's Anvil | 150 |
| Fenwir | Arching Crimson Ivy | 100 |
